Where do the afflictions exist?

Where do the afflictions exist?

Part of an ongoing series of teachings based on Shantideva’s classic text, “Bodhisattvacharyavatara”, often translated as “Engaging in the Bodhisattva’s Deeds.” Venerable Thubten Chodron also refers to the outline of the commentary by Gyaltsab Dharma Rinchen and the commentary by the Abbot Dragpa Gyaltsen.

  • What benefiting others truly means
  • Afflictions can be abandoned because they arise from a mistaken cause
  • Once fully conquered, the afflictions cannot remain anywhere else
  • Reflecting on emptiness and dependent nature of the afflictions
  • Our mind is more powerful than external phenomena
  • The role of sangha in our practice
  • Relationship between our experience and our mind
