12 Working with Anger
Part of a series of talks based on Working with Anger given at Sravasti Abbey’s monthly Sharing the Dharma Day starting in April, 2025. Written by Venerable Thubten Chodron the book presents a variety of Buddhist methods for subduing anger, not by changing what is happening, but by working with our minds to frame situations differently.
- It’s possible to eliminate our anger
- Our anger is based on incorrect interpretations of situations
- An example of forgiveness
- Learning and training in the techniques to counteract anger
- Looking at a situation from an objective perspective
- Giving the blame and rancor to our self-centered mind
- Practice thinking differently
- Focusing on our mental attitude and emotions
- The role of meditation
- Flipping the situation and responding with compassion instead of anger
- Questions and answers
An audio recording of the guided meditation is also available.
