(1) Vaibhāṣikas: Something that when it is broken into smaller pieces or moments of time can no longer be ascertained. (2) Sautrāntikas up to Svātantrikas: Something that can be identified only by identifying something else. (3) Prāsaṅgikas: Something that exists by being merely designated by term and concept.
