A Dharma Gift to the World

In a recent Wisdom Dharma Chat, Venerable Chodron and host Daniel Aitken celebrate the 10th and final volume in the Library of Wisdom and Compassion series, Vajrayāna and the Culmination of the Path. They discuss the evolution of the series with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the importance of making Buddhist teachings accessible, and the interconnectedness of traditions. Venerable shares her insights on empowerment, the significance of compassion and wisdom in spiritual practice, and more.

The teachings all come back to the Buddha. They build on one another. For example, there is a bodhisattva path in the Theravada.”
The view of emptiness started out in the Pali tradition, then was built on and explained in different ways in Tibet, China, and so forth.”
Misunderstandings are totally unnecessary. The Buddha would be very happy to see different traditions learning about each other.”
