Who it’s for:

Engaging in a Bodhisattva’s Deeds is a text that lends itself to both new and seasoned Dharma practitioners. It covers the entire span of practices necessary to progress on the path to full awakening, in an easy to read format with stark imagery and reasonings to inspire and transform the mind.

About the author:

Shantideva lived in 8th century ancient India, was born into a royal family and set to assume the throne after his father. However, motivated to be of greatest benefit to all sentient beings, Shantideva left the royal life and entered monastic life at the renowned Nalanda Monastery.

Zoom: Following in the Buddha's Footsteps

  • 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Refuge in the Three Jewels
Following in the Buddha’s Footsteps
A monthly series with Ven. Thubten Chodron
Saturday at 4pm PT/ Sunday 11am Australia time
Hosted on Zoom by Vajrayana Institute, Australia

Venerable Thubten Chodron leads a series of teachings delving deeper into the substance of spiritual practice, focusing on the practice of taking refuge.

In Following in the Buddha’s Footsteps, Ven. Chodron explains the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, why they are reliable guides on the path, and how to relate to them.

She also describes the three essential trainings common to all Buddhist traditions: the higher trainings in ethical conduct, concentration, and wisdom. These trainings show us how to live a life free of harm to self or others and give us detailed instructions on how to develop single-pointed concentration as well as the higher states of concentration available to an earnest practitioner.

Venerable Chodron will then discuss teachings on the noble eightfold path and the four establishments of mindfulness for developing greater awareness and understanding of our body, feelings, mind, and other phenomena. Together, these topics form the core of Buddhist practice.

Please register at the Vajrayana Institute website.
