Join Venerable Thubten Chodron for teachings on the Four Establishments of Mindfulness, following the commentary by Jetsun Chokyi Gyaltsen on this practice common to all Buddhist traditions. The Buddha declared of these meditations, “… this is the direct path for the purification of beings, for the surmounting of sorrow and lamentation, for the disappearance of pain and grief, for the attainment of the true way, for the realization of Nirvana.”
Taking four distinct entities as the object of meditation—body, feelings, mind, and phenomena—these practices lead to insight into the four noble truths, impermanence, dependent origination, and emptiness. They provide the foundation for practicing ethical conduct and developing concentration and wisdom.
