Compassion in the Midst of Chaos: the Engaged Buddhist in Modern Times
An evening public talk with Venerable Thubten Chodron
The times are chaotic. Our minds are chaotic. Are things really worse than ever before? From the Buddha’s point of view this chaos is the norm of our human condition, a state marked by impermanence and unsatisfactoriness. What to do? Instead of burying our heads or falling into anger and depression, Venerable Thubten Chodron shares how compassion gives us strength to embrace the suffering of ourselves and others. With compassion, we can work together with clarity and confidence for the happiness that we all seek.
Organized by the Harvard Buddhist Community and Dharma Drum Mountain. The talk will be held in the Braun Room, Andover Hall, 45 Francis Ave. For more information, contact hbcsangha [at] gmail [dot] com.
